Nice easy cache for the kids to find. It is just off one of the tracks on the Cooloola Great Walk, not very far in. You can park at the beginning of the track, see the photos of the signs.
You're looking for a small green plastic container. There is a FTF badge for the first to find and a log with pencil. There is also a few little gifts for the kids, please only take one per child and pop something small back in if you can.
You do have to catch the ferry across the Noosa River at Tewantin to get to this area, but you do not need a 4WD to reach the cache area. This is a good one if you are going for a trip along the beautiful Double Island Beach (4WD required) or holidaying/camping in the area.
If you are coming just to find the cache it is well worth taking the short drive to the beach edge then park and walk on the beautiful white beaches. There is acess to drive on the beach (4WD required) via the second cutting, enquire at the Northshore Retreat general store how to get there. If you have never driven on the beach before it is very important to have someone explain the times to drive around the tides. It is possible to drive along the beach for a couple of hours all the way up to Rainbow Beach, and magic experience.
