Geocache Description:

This is a replacement or do over for Heritage Hwy, GC148ME, placed very near this spot on 7/9/07.  That cache was in play until the hidey spot became a camping spot for the mountain bikers and the cache ended up far away from the coordinates.  I recently went out and picked up the container that was no longer in play.

I used the original container that was still in excellent condition.  I also used the original log book, ElkJim was FTF back on 7/10/07.  The cache had 57 logged visits and the logs are an absolute treat to read, so many folks reminiscing of the days they drove on the old highway between Bend and Burns.  I'd suggest that you take a look at some of the old logs.

The area boasts one of the last red cinder roads.  The cache is placed up the canyon and up the hill to make it a little more hidden from the mountain bikers that ride along this draw.

Congrats to Bubblegummers on the FTF
