Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series that my husband and I dreamed up. We were driving out and about doing spring maintenance of some of our caches on a beautiful afternoon. Obviously, doing some jamming on the radio! Stay tuned for more Van Halen caches! (hahahahaha) We had an ice cream break at a local establishment and thought heck, what a great name for a cache, so smart are we!

Ice Cream man comes from the 1978 debut album "Van Halen"; this included songs such as "Jamie's Crying" "You Really Got Me" and "Running with the Devil" (the last one is the one the wife knows best from this album). This was one of David Lee Roth's favorite songs; he pushed hard to get it on Van Halen's first album, as a tribute to the blues. It is one of the few times David Lee Roth sings and plays the acoutic guitar during the same song. Another awesome fact? Before becoming a big hit band they included this song on a cassette (remember those) and gave it to Gene Simmons (KISS). Simmons didn't like the song (what???) but let them record it anyway as a demo. They didn't get a deal out of it from Gene Simmons, but, when Warner Bros finally signed them, the song on the demo was included in their first album.
