GG&G #2 - Fishing In The Game lands Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

Game Lands Gadget & Gizmos #3 - A simple "fishing" cache

What a beautiful spot to go fishing! On our way out from hiding the first few of this series, we passed some trout fisherman getting ready to fish near here. But this will be a slightly different type of fishing... you won't be in the trout fishermens way at all. :-)

This is a popular, simple, "gadget" cache that we've seen in other areas and really liked.  It will require a "tool of the trade" (TOTT) , but you will find plenty of them in the area, no need to bring one with you.   Please be careful, and gentle, retrieving this.

Remember that you are in the game lands and dress appropriately - Orange should be worn during hunting seasons! You may want to bring your bug and tick spray as well.

Look around, some very minor bushwhacking may be required - but there are definitely spots with easier access than others, look for the little paths off the main path.

Datruck has had a lot of fun with some creative cache containers and hides, and wanted to place a variety along a nice walk, easily accessible for new cachers and children. Most of these caches are just creative containers, and if you have not seen these types of hides before, it may take a bit to "think out of the box" and find them. Experienced cachers should locate them quickly. We recommend bug/tick spray. This cache is hidden along a trail that is designated for ATV use, during hunting season, for those who have a disabled persons permit. "Designated Game Lands Open to ATVsA permanent Disabled Persons Permit holder may apply for a Towing Vehicle Placard that will allow the use a ATVs, by the permitted person, on designated State Game Lands roads open to ATVs. Towing Vehicle Placard Applications will be made available by the Commission to permanent Disabled Persons Permit holders." http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=514&objID=596042&mode=2 PLEASE NOTE - The original parking area is still available as a parking area, but with the bridge out, you cannot get to the caches without wading through the creek. The alternate parking lot is currently closed off after recent flooding. Fortunately, there is a 3rd parking lot with access to this area, nearby - we've updated the parking coords to this parking area. PA State Gamelands maps can be found here, this is Area 252. https://www.pgc.pa.gov/HuntTrap/StateGameLands/Pages/State-Game-Lands-Maps.aspx
