STEAMBOAT LANDING - Cayuga Waterfront Trail Traditional Cache

This magnetic key holder is an invitation to explore a vibrant part of Ithaca: Steamboat Landing, the location of Ithaca's Farmer's Market and also part of the newest segment of the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. This cache is the first of 7 new caches (of increasing difficulty) being published for Spring 2016 in advance of Ithaca's 7th CITO event on Sunday, April 17th.

On the waterfront where steamboats from Cayuga Lake used to dock, the Ithaca Farmer's Market at Steamboat Landing has developed a former debris site into a beautiful, bustling community gathering place where (on seasonal weekends) you can shop for fresh produce, snack on locally-made foods, listen to music, and enjoy the waterfront views.

I was delighted to find that this area had opened up and was ready for a new cache. The container was previously in a similar location but was moved to make room for Ithaca's fantastic TB hotel.
