This cache is located near historic Fort Mandan north of Washburn in the Fahlgren Pioneer Memorial Park. In this areas, you’ll have a chance to experience the beautiful Missouri River bottoms much as the Corps of Discovery saw it in 1804-1806. The cache was created in cooperation with the North Dakota Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Foundation.
Park at the Fort Mandan Visitor Service Center. Cross a metal footbridge and begin the trail at the Fahlgren Pioneer Park sign. Wearing insect repellent during the spring and summer season will make your cache hunt much more enjoyable.
The cache is in an ammo can and contains a copy of the Journals of Lewis & Clark with passages marked referring to this area as Lewis & Clark saw it during 1804.
