The Amazing GeoRace takes geocachers on an adventure solving puzzles, finding containers and earning points while discovering natural and historic features on the sanctuary’s property. Lacawac has been open to the public since 1966.
Join us for a Meet & Greet from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Parking is available around the posted coordinates. Sign-in, trade trackables, and geochat. We’ll talk about caches on the property and nearby before we take our group photo.
The Amazing GeoRace starts immediately following the picture. You do not have to race to sign the log, but you should be there by 9:15 to ensure you make the photo.
Want to run the race? Teams of 4-6 members must register by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25. Race guidebooks will be distributed at the registration table. Teams meet at 9:15 a.m. for an explanation of the race. The race starts immediately follow rules.
Teams of 4-6 members can prepay the $40 registration fee online before race day and receive one bonus point!
Not racing? Enjoy the sanctuary’s landscape and ecology. Trail maps are available for you to explore on your own. Awards are held at 11:30 a.m. near the registration area.
A new cache series will be published at noon on race day.
