Geocache Description:

This year, on April 18, marks the 80th anniversary of the first trig pillar.

Where: Hilly fields trigpoint
When: Monday 18th April 2016
Time: 18:00-18:30

This year, on April 18, marks the 80th anniversary of the first trig pillar. A common feature of the British countryside and often spotted by walkers, cyclists and geocachers. In 1936 on this date, Cold Ashby, Northamptonshire, became the first pillar used for the retriangulation of Great Britain, unfortunately we will not be able to make a pilgrimage to Northampton so a visit to a local pillar with a view over the capital will have to do.

There will be chat, TB swapping, a group photo.  Oh, and don't forget this trig also counts as a virtual cache as its YSM629
