The Parkend - Whitecroft Round joins the two villages along forest paths and there is on road parking to be found in both villages. Steam trains may be seen on the Dean Forest Railway which is close to the eastern side of the route and there are stations in both villages. Tree cover might affect GPSr accuracy so helpful hints are provided.

The main path can be muddy around this part of the route but there is an obvious detour near to the cache that avoids the mud.
