UPDATE- New Box Added. A small gift from Berlin has been added, for the first finder of the new box. A DEAD LETTER BOX is the name used for a method of secret communication between spies. Using a secret location known only to the sender and recipient, secret documents and coded messages could be passed between the two by leaving them in concealed places, often in public spaces and remaining completely unknown to passers by. The skill of placing and collecting messages formed part of the basic 'tradecraft' or espionage skills that a spy would need to remain unknown and survive. The skill was commonly used by spies living in enemy countries. During the Cold War, many Soviet spies used this method of communicating while carrying out espionage work here in the UK.
And you thought that Geo Caching started as a game..?
This would be an easy mission for an accomplished spy but how is your tradecraft? You are looking for a small black box, no bigger than the palm of your hand. Inside the box is a small notepad. Please try and replace the container as you found it to make it easy for the next agent
The drop is placed in a location that would enable an easy collection on foot, cycle or as a drive-by. Please be very wary of passers by, you never know who is an enemy agent..!
GOOD LUCK!
Congratulations to Claireavaissy for logging the FTF 45 minutes after it was published. Well done!
