We will gather on the steps of the Capitol from 11:59 p.m.- 12:45 a.m. For anyone concerned about just WHEN is 11:59 p.m., think of Friday, July 1st with a 24:00 clock and show up at 23:59.
If you choose, you can then join us at the waypoint coordinates for a visit or a snack from 1-1:45 a.m.
Please log a Will Attend with the number of participants We are coordinating with Capitol authorities to ensure access, coordination, etc. and wish to let them know how large a group to expect.
The copper dome of the Colorado State Capitol building is famous and lovely. Visiting/logging the official 5280 feet (one mile above sea level) benchmark on the West steps is a Rite of Passage for visitors to our colorful state and folks from Colorado alike.
This event will offer you the opportunity to visit/log the famous 5280 feet Benchmark, visit-visit with local geocachers and attendees from far and wide, admire the Colorado State Capitol with its famous copper dome, check out night-time lights in downtown Denver, and, perhaps, enjoy some "magical" unique and tasty baked goods (only available in five locations world-wide).
No purchase is required at either stage of the event. If you elect to purchase something, obviously, you are responsible for your own charges. Location is cache-only. VooDoo will be creating a unique doughnut to honor this Geocaching event!>
