The Minister of Education (Hon. M.
McIntosh) stated on Wednesday that since April, 1927, when the present Government took office, 61 schools had been opened or re-opened and five more schools had been approved, and the completion of them was awaited.
The Government had been concentrating upon giving, as far as possible, equality of opportunity in educational matters, and to that end had concentrated upon the supply of schools and teachers in country districts.
The net results would be that in 66 centres through-out the State facilities for schools would be enjoyed where previously they were denied.
