For the most part you will be walking in on a dirt trail from Lacey Road. The trail is in generally good condition, but there are a couple of spots with 'sugar' sand. You may want to bring a pair of gloves for that final reach, but no need to step off the main trail.
This cache is the third in the Exception Series. The cache is an 'Exception' because it is located on what is known as an in-holding and not part of the surrounding state park property and therefore not subject to state park service rules. The property is a nature preserve owned by a local non-profit called the Forked River Mountain Coalition and is accessible to the public. There are two other caches nearby.
If you keep walking down the trail that the cache is on you will eventually come to a very scenic spot on the Cedar Creek. It is a beautiful place no matter what the season (but there are a lot of bugs during the summer).
Please use common sense and respect all property and natural resources while attempting this cache.
