Geocache Description:

This cache is along the Maricopa Trail between Anthem and Lake Pleasant. There are three ways to access the trail. From the east along Pioneer Rd. the west along New River Rd and the south at the trailhead for the Black Canyon Trail along Careefree Hwy. There are no motor vehicles allowed on the Maricopa Trail or the Black Canyon Trail. 

Both of these trails are on State Trust land. The BCT does have a legal easement through the state trust land with no permit required but to use the Maricopa Trail you must have a State Trust Land permit. Information for this permit can be found on the State Trust Land website.
