Children's Lit: Jumanji Mystery Cache

When I first thought of this series, I thought it would  be easy.  Just make a list of my favorite children's books and find a place to hide a cache.  I didn't realize I had so many favorites.  I narrowed the list down.  Still too many so I decided to feature picture books.  Most of the books in this series are favorites that I've read to children when I worked in the library at an elementary school.

JUMANJI written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg

    Chris Van Allsburg works in so many different medium that it's hard to choose just one of his books!  The illustrations in Jumanji are drawn in greys, white and black but show a lot of details.

   The two children were very bored when they found the game in the park so they decided to open it up and play.  The instructions were very clear, once you start the game you HAVE to keep playing until one person reaches the Golden City.  The game comes to life and an adventure begins as a quiet house is taken over by an exotic jungle, complete with lions, monkeys, a snake....well, you're just going to have to read the rest!

There is a snake on the fireplace mantle.  What does it match?

      1 = The wallpaper

      5= The rug

      6 = A picture

      8= A chair

Plug in the correct number to find the cache.  You can park very near the cache but it can be a busy area.
