Children's Lit: Dooby Dooby Moo Mystery Cache

When I first thought of this series, I thought it would  be easy.  Just make a list of my favorite children's books and find a place to hide a cache.  I didn't realize I had so many favorites.  I narrowed the list down.  Still too many so I decided to feature picture books.  Most of the books in this series are favorites that I've read to children when I worked in the library at an elementary school.

DOOBY DOOBY MOO by Doreen Cronin

   When duck sees an ad in the newspaper for a talent show at the county fair, he wants to enter!  First prize is a trampoline!  Duck organizes the other animals into rehearsals but Farmer Brown is suspicious and wonders what the animals are doing.  He watches them very, very closely. 

  Farmer Brown wants to go to the county fair but doesn't want to leave the animals because he is sure they are up to something.  He takes the animals with him, to keep them out of trouble.

   Once at the fair and Farmer Brown is out of sight, the animals sign in for the talent contest.

  The cows sing "Twinkle, twinkle Little Star."  ("Dooby dooby dooby moo. Dooby moo, moo, moo, moo, moo.")

  Duck sings, "Born to Be Wild." ("QUACK, quack, quack, QUUUUAAAACCCCK quack quack QUUUAAACCCK!")

  What were the pigs suppse to do?

A:   0 = An  interpretive dance

        6 = A John Wayne impression

        7 = A cooking demonstration

        1 = Read a poem

What did the pigs do instead?

B: 3 =  They protested the barbecue

      0 =   They fall asleep

      7 =  They got stage fright

      5 =  They ran away
