Today my buddy and coworker Jambone clocked his last official day on the job. They announced the layoffs a few weeks back.
Jambone is the guy who introduced me to geocaching, and we have had many fine adventures racking up smileys in the Irving/Las Colinas area. Like that time we ran into the mother of all chiggers nests, and I almost thought I'd killed myself after overdosing on antihistamines. Or that one time we forgot to bring a pen, and he tried (unsuccessfully) to cut himself so we could sign the log in blood. It's the thought that counted. Or the time we racked our brains trying to get FTF on a now defunct puzzle cache, only to fail to find the container at GZ.
Well, there'll be no more "lunchtime grabs with Jambone". That just kills me. I'm gonna miss you, buddy!
About the location — I thought about making this a part of my Sketchy Spots series, as it could qualify. There's nothing particulary "Jambonish" about this hide, except for the fact that it is located a convenient distance from where I was having lunch today, which I suppose makes it perfectly appropriate.
