Geocache Description:

The 14th Annual Cache In Trash Out® Week is almost here! CITO Events are a chance for geocachers to give back to their local spaces and communities, and may involve tree planting, litter pick up, or even habitat restoration. From April 16 – 24, you can even earn a special souvenir by attending one.

During the 2015 Christchurch Mega Event a very special CITO was held - GC63XG4 Green Thumbs Up.  145 Mega attendees decended on Woodend beach and helped plant and water-in a Biota node with native plants supplied by the Tuhaitara Conservation Trust. The event was arguably one of the most well received and rewarding events ever! The Tuhaitara Trust ranger (Greg) was so impressed that he was going to dedicate (with signage) the node to 'Canterbury Geocaching'.

Well - 6 months have now passed and we feel a visit is needed to tend to 'our' patch (hopefully it has survived the long hot summer!).

When:1:30pm - 2:30pm, Sunday 17th April

Bring a bag for rubbish, a fork for a bit of weeding & maybe even a bucket for a smidge of watering (it's been a hot summer!)

The Mega Team will supply some refreshments and maybe even a 'sausage in bread' for attendees.

Plenty of parking available. The node is on the roadside as you drive in; to the right of the Tuaitara Trust Office/Building.
