We thought the Northside deserved another CITO, so spend a couple of hours helping tidy up Griffin, and earn a CITO 2016 souvenir for your effort! This event coincides with the 14th Annual Cache In Trash Out Week (the first of two for 2016), which is scheduled for April 16 – 24.
The powerline corridor found here is bounded by bushland that could do with a good tidy up, as could nearby Vermillon Avenue and Stirling Esplanade. There's everday consumer garbage (like drink bottles and packets) as well as tyres, white goods and car parts that need removing.
Come join us from 9am to 11am to see if we can make a difference to this area.
Bring your usual gear for this type of activity: sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, gloves and a grabber tool if you prefer. The Moreton Bay Regional Council will be supplying disposable gloves, general waste and recycling bags, some hi-vis vests, and will take care of rubbish removal. This CITO is a registered Clean-Up Australia Day event.
Everyone is welcome, if this is your first CITO event, there is an FAQ here. There will be some light refreshments on offer for the thirsty and hungry workers. There are wide open spaces for the kiddies to run around, and 2 kids play areas within walking distance (see waypoints for locations), however there are no onsite amenities. We look forward to your company :)
