Noah's Project Traditional Cache

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to required merit badges, each Scout must complete an extensive service project that he plans, organizes, leads, and manages. Cache to Eagle is a partnership between Geoscouting, the BSA, and Geocaching.com to highlight Eagle projects across the nation. This Series highlights Projects by Boy Scouts in the Simon Kenton Council.

This Eagle Scout project is from a Scout named Noah in Troop 418 in Hilliard Ohio & involved the clearing of an overgrown quarter-acre lot owned by the Hilliard Presbyterian Church.  After clearing the wooded area in the back of the parcel, Noah & his volunteers that he organized installed two benches to create a small park. Volunteers brought materials to the work site and Ahlum and Arbor Tree Preservation of Hilliard donated its services, removing and chipping the trees and underbrush.The material was used to build a mulch path between the church parking lot and the new park. "It was a good use of natural resources," Noah said. "Conservation is something Scouting is constantly teaching us".  In total, Noah & his volunteers invested 208 man-hours in the project. 

This cache is a magnetic key holder and inside is written in permanant marker one of the Scout laws plus a pencil & log sheet.  Please note that the site is owned by the Hilliard Presbyterian Church and permission to place this cache was granted by D Morris SM (Troop 418 meets at this Church).  

This Cache to Eagle geocache in # 7 of 12 caches hidden within the Simon Kenton Council to highlight Eagle Projects.  Over the next several months, caches with the remaining Scout laws will be placed in or near other Eagle Scout Projects in Simon Kenton Council.  If you find all 12 & can match the locations with the correct Scout Laws you will be sent a Cache to Eagle patch.
