The majestic and mysterious common raven can be found all around Pender Island. The swoosh of its powerful wings and raucous range of calls punctuate the rain forest with a special spirit.
Listen for the call of the raven as you reach through a cascade of sword fern flowing from a decaying log right beside the trail. No need to even step off the path to make this find. You'll know you have the right spray of fern when you come to a very narrow part of the trail due to a mature fir tree standing guard on the other side of the path about a meter from the hide. BYOP.
