Geocache Description:

Official Group Picture

Paddle, sail, row, or motor your way out to this little island in Shadow Mountain Lake for a final get together before everyone heads home from the GCCO Camping Trip.  Everyone should meet at the posted coordinates at 12:00 noon and plan to be done and headed back to shore no later than 1:00 pm.

Back by popular demand, the perfect cap-off to the GCCO Camping Weekend will occur again on this island.  Although at least one geocacher survived swimming out to this island two years ago, it is not recommended.  There are boats that can be rented at the nearby marina, or bring your own canoe, kayak, or inflatable boat for a quick paddle out to this event.  Obviously, a bunch of attendees could and should probably go in together on a boat rental to split the cost.

This cache is rated 1/5 for D/T.  Difficulty 1 because it will be super-easy to spot the group of people on this little island, and Terrain 5 because it requires special gear (a boat) to get to the posted coordinates.

There are also 2 traditional caches within very short walking distance once you get out to the island.

New this year, there will be a new Difficulty 5 / Terrain 5 Wherigo cache nearby that you will be able to play either before or after the event. I think the Wherigo cartridge turned out really well and I'm sure everyone is going to have a great time choosing their own adventure while navigating the High Seas to the sunken treasure.
