"Strathnairn" was one of the original Canberra homesteads, taken over by the ACT Government who now owns the grounds of this farm, and operates them and the buildings as a public Arts Precinct. The grounds are open free of charge to visitors, but the best time to visit is between 10am and 4pm when the gallery, and cafe are open. Access is off Stockdill Drive. On site there are Studio faciliteis for artists, a foundary, kiln and print making facilities. There is also a woolshed available for events at a small fee. The grounds are spectacularly peaceful, views to the Brindabella's and open for free to the public. Changes to the boundaries on 5 April 2016 made new land availalbe adjacent to the homestead for public space and further for a new suburb. This small geocaching trail provides an easy walk and ready finds with unique GC's.
