Geocache Description:

As part of the Autumn 14th Annual Cache In Trash Out Week you’re invited to help clean up another of Dunedin’s scenic viewpoints!

Date: Sunday 24 April 2016

Time: 10 am until 11 am.  You can arrive late or leave early if that suits you best.

Where: (1) Lawyers Head lookout from 10 - 10.30 am and (2) the locked gate on John Wilson Ocean Drive from 10 - 11 am. There will be a coordinator with an event logbook at each site.

WARNING: We won’t need to go near the cliffs, but please take care and supervise children closely.

Higher terrain rating:  Most of us will need to crawl under shrubs to collect the hidden rubbish in this area. Be prepared!

How to get there: You will need to walk or bike to get to Lawyers Head lookout.
The John Wilson Ocean Drive is closed to cars during the weekend. Either:
(1) Park at the locked gate on John Wilson Ocean Drive. You can pick up rubbish around here;
(2) Walk/bike 1.3 km along the road to the lookout (picking up rubbish on the way!); or

(2) Park at the Dunedin Crematorium and walk 400m around the end of the golf course to the lookout (the links are on a DCC reserve and open to the public).  If you cut across the golf course, be considerate and make sure you are not crossing in front of golfers’ line of play.

Who: All geocachers and friends are welcome.
New cachers are especially welcome- you can log a "Will Attend" note to tell us you're coming, or just turn up! It's a great opportunity to make new friends, help keep Dunedin beautiful and also earn a smiley.

We'll be there rain or shine: check the weather forecast and wear appropriate warm and waterproof clothing. Please bring your own drink – we’ll provide biscuits and hand sanitiser.

Bags and gloves will be provided, courtesy of Keep Dunedin Beautiful.
