Geocache Description:

The Charter House,

Here, from its foundation by Sir Michael de la Pole in 1378, until 1539, stood the priory of Saint Michael. Called The Charterhouse the Carthusians John Rochester and James Walworth were detained here before their execution in 1537.

Michael de la Pole, 1st Baron de la Pole, later 1st Earl of Suffolk (c. 1330 – September 5, 1389) was an English financier and Lord Chancellor of England.


This Cache is the first in the Blue Plaque series of 6, from this Caches location you can see the plaque and the lovely Charter House. You will need your own pen to sign this small log, It is located Near the blue plaque but not too close as there are some gates to keep it safe.
