Fiordland Penguin Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheAwesomePenguins: Well, it looks like the time for this series has run its course. 2 of the caches are missing, including this one, and I have lost the redirects needed for the final. So, regretfully pulling the 5 caches from the forest and hopefully someone else can populate it with some new caches.

Geocache Description:

The Meister Tract (now called the Penguin Tract) used to have a number of caches, however, I was not lucky enough to have searched for them. I placed this series in order to get people out here to enjoy the trail. If you have been here before, welcome back. If you are new, enjoy your hike.

Congrats to kguppy on the FTF, on his birthday

The Fiordland Penguin is a very small penguin approximately 55cm tall and 4kg in weight. There are only about 3,000 breeding pairs. They live in the rainforests along the coastline of New Zealand's Fiordland and Stewart Islands.

You can walk along the main trail betweeneach cache. Once you find the cache, write down the numbers located inside the top of the cache or on the top of the log sheet. You will need these numbers to figure out the final coordinates for the King Penguin mystery cache. Cache is a black vitamin bottle.

The forest has signs of wildlife including deer, wild turkey, coyote, various other small birds and animals. There is a "No Hunting" sign at the main gate  but please use caution just n case.
