Geocache Description:

Cache container is a magnetic key case.

Bring a camera for some great pictures.

In summer watch for muggles.

This is another spot on our walk around Vergennes.  You can get some great pictures of the falls from here.  It is a busy place in the summer with boats docked and picnicing and fishing nearby.  Care may be needed if muggles are nearby or it may be a good time to introduce new folks to geocaching.

Check out the history of the steam boats and ship building that happened here.  The Daniels Family Steamboat Company operated from here.  Philomene Daniels was the first female steamboat captain in the world. She was quite a colorful character.  The North American Steamboat Association has a meet each summer farther down the Creek at River's Bend. Boats were build here for Commodore MacDonough's fleet which were instrumental in victories in the War of 1812.

I moved the cache from its original location. It is abut 60 ft. from the original.

It is a great place to sit and enjoy the creek after you read about the shipyard.
