Some of us Old Timers in Geocaching remember special caches and Events being placed on special days of the year. July 7, 2007 was the Lucky Day, and was simply listed as 7/7/7. As years went by we also saw 08/08/08 and 09/09/09. In 2010, Groundspeak offered a souvenir for attending an Event on 10/10/10. They offered another souvenir for 11/11/11 and 12/12/12. Then it all ended because there was no 13/13/13. In 2015 we had PI Day on 3/14/15 which was the first several number of PI (3.141592653589…) This number always appears when you divide the circumference of a circle by its diameter.
This year we are celebrating Square Root Day on April 4, 2016. That’s 4/4/16. Doing the math, we all know that 4x4=16. The Square Root of 16 is 4. The last previous Square Root Day was 3/3/09, and the next one will be 5/5/25.
This cache has been placed to honor this unique day. To solve this puzzle, you will need to do some math. Grab your paper and pencil, but it might be easier if you grab your calculator.
North degrees = Square Root of 676
North minutes = Square Root of 77.810041
West degrees = 9 squared + 4 squared
West minutes = (2 squared multiplied by the Square Root of 100) point (10 squared + 4 squared)
