Ng Tung Chai Waterfalls
Ng Tung Chai Waterfall is one of "the Four Natural Wonders" and the best-known and biggest waterfall in Hong Kong.
Located at the northern side of Tai Mo Shan, the steady flow of water of Ng Tung Chai Waterfall comes from Tai Mo Shan, irrigates the farmlands around Lam Tsuen River, and ends at Tolo Harbour.
You can take bus 64K or minibus 25K from Tai Po and take off near Ng Tung Chai stop on Lam Kam Road, or you can take a taxi to Man Tak Garden directly. Clear signposts will guide tourists to reach the 4 waterfalls at different altitudes. They are Bottom Fall (Fall under the well), Middle Fall (Horse Tail Fall), Main Fall (Long Fall) and Scatter Fall.
In addition to the lovely waterfalls, I hope you enjoy the caches along the way.
The Middle Fall
You should be able to hear the sound of the Middle Fall in a distance. At there, the stream drops down a cliff face, to a pool ringed by bouiders, and almost immediately vanishes into the mini gorge. It is relaxing to watch the fall, listen to the water shooshing down, and look around to see nothing but ravine, trees, and sky.
The Cache
1. The cache is placed in the area of Middle Fall. You may find many muggles resting there to enjoy the fall and take photos. Please take extra care when you grab and return the cache.
2. To keep a longer life of the cache, please wait for a moment of less muggles to grab and return the container.
3. In case you are certain the container is missing, throwdown is welcome, just that please send me the photo of the updated container for reference.
