The box is on the edge of a park which surrounds Swythamley Hall. It is possible there was a building on this site as early as the 12 century and by 1283 it was a grange belonging to Dieulacres Abbey near Leek. Since the dissolution the Hall has belonged to two families, the Traffords and the Brocklehursts. In 1977 the estate was sold and used as a Transcendental Meditation centre for ten years when it was sold for residential redevelopment. The present building dates back to the 19th century and it is now four separate residences. p>Enjoy a walk up to Hanging Stone and Lud's Church and find this geocache along the way. We would appreciate it if you could upload as many photos of you and the caches as possible please. Many thanks, Superhero Six.
