Dolina Wisły jest zamieszkała przez ponad 40 gatunków ssaków – czyli podobną liczbę jak typowy polski park narodowy. Najliczniej reprezentowane są gryzonie (16 gatunków, m.in. bóbr, wiewiórka, orzesznica) i nietoperze (14 gatunków, m.in. gacki, nocki i mroczki).
Do najciekawszych i najrzadszych mieszkańców doliny Wisły zaliczyć można rysia i łosia (spotykane np. w Kampinoskim Parku Narodowym), a także wydrę i borsuka. Wiele z tych gatunków napotkać można na brzegach Wisły w granicach wielkiej Warszawy.

The Vistula valley is inhabited by more than 40 species of mammals - the same number as a typical Polish national park. The most numerous are rodents (16 species, including beaver, squirrel, dormouse) and bats (14 species, including bats, nocki and scotoma).
The most interesting and rarest inhabitants of the Vistula River valley include the lynx and moose (found for eg. in Kampinos National Park), as well as the otter and badger. Many of these species may be encountered on the banks of the Vistula within the limits of the great Warsaw.
