Geocache Description:

The second Taranaki Meet and Greet in Merrilands at a local meeting point

Following the very successful recent meet and greet at this location we have agreed that  we should try and meet up at least once a month with meetings in New Plymouth and Hawera (and points in between) with various hosts as appropriate. We have agreed that the last Thurday in the month is the best midweek night to catch up on, of course we can still plan weekend meets adventures and CITOs.

The meet is to swap yarns, discover and swap travel bugs and geocoins, offer assistance and solve puzzles. The odd hunt or mountain excursion could also be planned this way. These meets are ideal for new starters to gain knowledge from the existing local caching team, we have a lot of experience and skills between us, let’s share them.

Last time we had Phronimos taking about how to Puzzle cache (thank you Peter), this month I am happy to say that Zork V has agreed to discuss Cache Placement for anyone that wants some guidance on how to place a cache and the things to look for. I will make sure that we can all be at the same table this time..

This meet  location is close to a local shopping centre and café which can provide toilets and parking. We have a long outside table reserved for upto 20 people. Meet at say 6pm onwards which allows for a yarn or two before a beer or two nearby.

Hope to see you all soon, if you cannot make it this time, no problem, there will be another event soon. BB

Next event will possibly be at Midhurst Hosted by 2Bullbars followed by a June event hosted by Dragon Gem (who is indisposed for this month).

Please note the Wanganui Skills event coming up, there are several Naki cachers intending to do a cross border challange. Check out https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6DP8W_skills-fun-101-wanganui
