Geocache Description:

This is a quick cache and dash with a twist.  Heavy muggle area

The houses in this road were built during the edwardian/victorian period.  The house where the cache is hidden is a typical victorian terrace built in 1905.  They were all once home to workers of Braintree's silk factory.  Warner and sons (The silk factory company) was founded in 1870, and in 1953 created the silk pattern for the Queen's coronation.  It is now a museum with silks from the factory chosen as our country's most historic objects.  The houses are now a conservation area so owners are limitedin what changes they are able to make.  Most have double glazing instead of the famous crittal windows, but outer design, bricks and slate are supposed to be relaced like for like.  Unfortunately not all adhere to this, but believe us when we were applying for planning permission (Loft conversion) we learnt all about these rules-no front window for our loft room....

The real beauty of these houses are sadly not the red brick two up two down style you'll see, but the inside with fireplaces inside and the rear gardens.  Despite it being at the heart of an expanding town and busy road, there are often wildlife to be found, typical birds nesting in the rafters, foxes and we've even woken to a muntjac in the garden! Most likely however, you'll find cats.  Ours are Darwin and Blackie-They both love affection so may ask for a stroke if you're visiting.

The cache is hidden by the children with help from Daddy, at the time little legs was age 6yrs and the eldest 11yrs.  It was one of their more realistic plans, but you may need to think like one of them to find the cache.  Cache is small and will only take swapables such as the odd marble that we'll start it off with.  It's there to start our cache owning and as a quick cache and dash for you all during town visits or bus waits.

I promise it is not in the bluebells, so please be careful of those.  Neighbours here are lovely, so do say hello if they pop out to enquire why you're there.  They know all our outdoor antics so won't be surprised.  Full permission given by household obviously.
