Arnside E. I. Traditional Cache

A tricky little cache just across the road from the Educational Institute

The Arnside Educational Institute was first established in Pier Lane with a newspaper reading room, library and meeting room in the late 19^th century. The meeting room was used mainly for adult classes including woodwork, needlework, art and cookery. With around 80 paid up members at the turn of the 20^th century, the institute moved to the current building on Church Hill some years after its opening ceremony on September 16^th 1929. Since then the numbers of people involved with the institute have grown and there are activities for all ages and interests. The Institute has meeting rooms and is now the home for Arnside Library.
