Once upon a time in a kingdom far far away was a castle called Pinochle. In this castle lived two beautiful women. These women were not only the best of friends, they were infamous card playing partners. And they were the best in the lands. Eventually they became so good, they became known throughout the kingdom as the "Queens of Diamonds". While it is true they won every game they played, they were not good winners. After each game they would mock and ridicule their opponents badly. Finally there came a time that no one would ever play them a game again. While that made them very sad , they agreed not to change their ways.
One beautiful spring day, two older gentlemen, who were on a lifelong mission of helping the old, sick, less fortunate people, and orphans to live a better life, entered the castle. When the Queens of Diamonds spotted them, they immediately challenged them to a game. These guys, knowing the outcome of any game they played, respectively declined. All this did was anger the girls. They increased their pressure which in turn increased the insults and scorn they poured out onto these two fine people. At long last, the guys realized that the Queens bad behavior would never stop until they played a game and thus agreed to sit down and play.
After warning the Queens of Diamonds what the outcome of the game would be, the cards were dealt. The Queens were outbid, outplayed, out trumped and outscored at every turn and they lost. Badly in fact, very badly, very very badly. At the conclusion of the game, the Queens were so devastated, they burst into uncontrollable sobs and cries. At long last, through the tears, the Queens of Diamond exclaimed "Who are you two?" The gentlemen turned and looked at each other, hand fived and replied "You can call us the Kings of Diamonds" With that, they left the Pinochle Castle and continued their goal of helping all the unfortunate people throughout the lands.
The moral of this story: Somedays it is good to be a King!!
