Parus Major er det latinske navnet til Kjøttmeisen, en fugl i meisefamilien. Lengden er cirka 15 cm, og vekten er fra 14 til 20 g. Fuglen er den største i meisefamilien. Kjøttmeisen har et svart hode med hvite kinn og en svart stripe langs den gule undersiden. Hos hannen er denne stripen breiere enn hos hunnene. Ryggen er grønnaktig, mens stjerten og vingene er blåaktige. Unge fugler har ofte litt mattere farger enn de eldre fuglene.

The Great Tit has a black head with white cheeks and a black stripe down along the yellow underside. The males stripe is wider than the females. It´s back is green-ish, whilst the tail and the wings are in a blue-ish color. The young often have fainter colors than the older birds.)
