Medina City Park Cache Mystery Cache
Keystone: Hello,
If the owner is moving out of state and has to "close this cache," then it ought to be archived permanently rather than just temporarily disabled. If I am incorrect, and the owner desires to have the cache remain in place with a new owner or maintainer, then please let me know and I will unarchive the listing and assist with the changes to the cache page.
Thanks,

This Cache is hidden in a unique manner. The LON/LAT listed here will lead you to the Meridian Stone on the NE corner of Medina City Square. There you should follow the “Meridian Stone” clue (BELOW) which will lead you to a store front where a card marked with GEOCACHING can be found in a lower window. That card will have the actual LON (N) and clue as to where to find the LAT (W) directions. Then you will have the complete information that will direct you to the actual cache.

The Medina Cache is set up in multiple parts, designed by our two sons (James-9, and Charles-12), where you must go to different locations (as given by clues) to find the actual location of the cache. Overall distance is about 3 miles, but most of it CAN be driven if necessary (the city square is full of “One Way” streets though). The areas where you go to find the clues as to the cache’s location are only about 5 city blocks apart. All of the city walking is on paved ground, while the cache itself is located in “Groundhog Heaven”. I suggest you park on the square, walk the clues to get the final location, then drive to the park (which is about 2.25 miles away from the square).
Be careful when you get out to East Reagan Parkway (or, as we refer to it, East Groundhog Way) as the opposite side of the street (a right turn) is Foote Road. Parking can be found at the top of a small hill on the road (there are 2 small parking spots at the entrance of the park jogging path). In the woods on the opposite side of the street from the jogging path is where the Cache is hidden. The cache is hidden in by a fallen tree in a large clear plastic container that is covered by a old burlap sack.
Medina is a wonderfully quiet little country town with a rich history (the Root Family and their wonderful Candle Factory is one such item stretching back to the mid 19th century). Please take some time to look about and see that history. And, for the record, the current record count on Groundhog Sightings on E. Reagan Parkway is 14!

MERIDIAN STONE CLUE: Go to the opposite corner plus one block (w) and look for a store that is fun for kids of all ages (with lots of toys that you can play with too!).
NOTE: this cache replaces the old Medina City Parks Cache that has been constantly ravaged by bad weather and flooding. You can still go out to Medina Lake Park on Granger (Left off Reagan Parkway on Rte 3, Right on Granger. 1/2 mile down on the Right) and see our beautiful little lake.
