B is for BELL - a hollow metallic device that gives off a reverberating sound when struck - church bells typically have the form of a cup-shaped cast metal resonator with a flared thickened rim, and a pivoted metal striker or clapper hanging from its center inside. It is usually mounted high in a bell tower on top of the church, so it can be heard by the surrounding community. The bell is suspended at its apex from a horizontal axle, so it can swing from side to side. A rope is tied to a pulley or lever on the axle, and hangs down to ground level. To ring the bell, the bell-ringer pulls on the rope, swinging the bell. The motion causes the clapper to hit the inside rim of the bell as it swings, making the sound. Alternatively, the bell may be suspended from a stationary support, and the bell rung by pulling a rope attached to the clapper to one side. There are five bells in town, , one is at First Baptist Church , this one came from church that was on west end of main street before they built the new church in 1963, one is at Catholic Church , this one was origionally in the methodist church before they built there new church. one is at The Water Tower , the one here sits up on second level and was used to summon, people of dangers and fires in the early years, of the town,, one is at Christian Church , was at the northwest , corner of broadway and lowe street, before they built there new church , one is at First Methodist Church, set in storage till some of church deacons hoisted it up into the bell tower, its only one in town that still can be rung with pull rope , most of them are displayed on the church grounds, cause origional church, they were in was torn down when they built the new church's. the only one of the old church's that wasn't torn down when they built new one, is the Baptist Church at West end of Main street. -----------------Okay lets work on the COORDINATES for the CACHE N 36 31.AB7 W 097 26.CD0 ----------------------------------Go to N 36 31.859 W 097 26.631 ( D ) is the the first number in the size of this BELL , (hint the size is at top center of the bell). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go to N 36 31.951 W 097 26.559 ( B ) is the second number in the size of this BELL ---------------------------------------------Go to N 36 31.690 W 097 26.646 ( C ) is the third number in the phone number of TITAN FENCE CO.
