CITO

Calling all Camrose & Area Cache Hunting Enthusiasts!!!
Come on out and meet other local "C.A.C.H.E.rs", and at the same time help out with an excellent cause. Bonus: you get to earn a geocaching CITO Event smiley at the same time (and maybe even a Geocaching CITO souvenir)!

Cache In Trash Out (CITO) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places in their communities. http://www.geocaching.com/cito/default.aspx

Who can attend??
Anyone in the caching community who would love to help make this cute little community clean! You don't have to be a New Norway resident to take part (we hope people from other than New Norway will show up, otherwise it will just be us!!).

Final details for the event are still being developed. However, here's what we can share for now.
Please bring: a pair of gloves, garbage collecting sticks, garbage bags, some snacks and something to drink, and your spirit to clean up New Norway. "J" will also try to bring some extra garbage bags, but it doesn't hurt to bring some extra bags just in case! For coordination reasons, please give us a heads up as reasonably early as possible if you can attend or not (and the number of people in your party). It will give us all a good idea how much supplies we'll need for our event.

There will be a log book on site to document your attendance. In order to log this CITO event, you must sign the log book and help out with at least part of the event (fill up a bag or two of garbage).

Schedule for the Day (Saturday, April 23rd):
9:00am to 9:25am: Arrive at the JREnarson's place, parking at the listed parking coordinates (we are trying to park as many people on the grass on our side yard as we can to keep vehicles off of the street)
9:25am to 9:30am: Get instructions for the CITO event
9:30am to 10:30am: Walking around New Norway as a group (or possibly as a couple of groups, if we have enough people) to clean up any garbage we find along the way. Filled garbage bags will be loaded up into the back of a truck, and then hauled back to JREnarson's place for final disposal.
10:30am to 10:45am: Back at the home of JREnarson for "high fives" and a group photo (ideally with all of the collected garbage)
After 10:45am (Optional): Everyone heads down to the local restaurant in New Norway for coffee, pie, or an early lunch. (Check out the listed coordinates for the restaurant.) Everyone will be responsible for their own tab.

Also, we are hoping that this event will encourage others to host CITO events in your own communities. If you do, we'd love to come to your "stomping grounds" and help out at your CITO event (just as long as it's not on the same day as ours!)
