Geocache Description:

Welcome to TDB's Colorful Adventures at Settlers Cabin (TCAatSC) Geotour!  You have chosen to embark on a journey that will take you to some of the unknown hidden treasures within Settler's Cabin Park.  The name of each cache tells you which trail you will be on and a possible description of where the cache might be.  There might be other information within the actual Geocache that might be helpful for other adventures in the park.

This cache is part of the TCAatSC series. This cache is located on the Purple Trail, otherwise known as the Father Bill trail. The Purple Trail forms a loop in the southern part of Settler’s Cabin, where it will run parallel with the Yellow Trail, until the Yellow Trail cuts up through the middle of the loop, and will share the same path with the Green Trail for a few hundred yards. The Purple Trail forms a 1.25-mile loop. You can access the Purple Trail from the paved Panhandle Trail Connector path that runs from the old park office, south to Pinkerton Run Road. The cache that you are seeking is medium sized lock and lock container.

As you hike through Settler’s Cabin, you will traverse many different areas. You will travel through meadows, dense forests, open trails, cross-streams, climb and descent several hills, and no doubt get muddy depending on how the weather has been lately. Some of the caches are located right along the trail, while others are ways back and will require a bit of bushwhacking. All caches have been placed in a way that they should be enjoyable and should be able to be found. Remember to take a pen, pencil, crayon, lipstick, etc. to use to sign the log sheet. Any log that says you did not sign the log sheet, will be deleted without prior warning.

Please note that Settler’s Cabin is open from 8 AM to Dusk daily. This means ABSOLUTELY no night caching! Please abide to this rule so there are no problems with county police and the parks office. All caches have been approved by the county park system, so they know these caches are here. Be mindful of your surroundings, as muggles will be scene on the trails.
