This cache requires very good bush orientation and bush driving skill, as well as reliable 4x4 vehicle (especially during the rain). There will be no network in the area. During 80’s someone drove into Mara Triangle with his/her VW Kombi and had breakdown. The engine bursted and whole VW went into flames and this is what is left of it. Now VW provides nice shades in the middle of the savannah as seasonal jackal den and bird nest.
The junction to Ngiro-are station is located between Oloololo gate and Iseiya station (next to Serena lodge) along the main road. Drive along the road with Oloololo escarpment on right. Turn left into “cattle trail” (S 01° 22.723 E 034° 53.673) and head south. Pass flat top fig tree on the right, then turn left at (S 01° 24.626 E 034° 53.960) and head east (you cross small lugga). You will see a large fig tree on the right in a distance as you head northeast. Diverge slightly to the left on the rocky area (if grass is tall, be VERY careful of the rocks). You will see a roof of VW in distance.
