Built between 1822-1908 by George Harper who named the property after his birth place in Roxburghshire in Scotland and later William Antill.
The ruins are a significant for its association with the settlement of the Picton area. The ruins, together with the other components of the property, provide an opportunity to interpret an early pastoral property.
The gardens and grounds are of a horticultural significance due to Harper being a noted natural history collector.
An underground water tank contributes to the overall understanding of occupation of the group as domestic items are often dropped into wells.
The property was sold to William Antill in 1865
