The Safety Committee was out biking the trail just after the rain when we hit this wooden bridge going slightly faster than a leisurely pace. The Director, Asphalt Quality Assurance Section wiped out and the rest of us crashed all around him. Good thing we were wearing our helmets, brightly colored shirts, and reflective gear! We investigated the situation and developed two safety recommendations:
1. Never let the Director, Asphalt Quality Assurance Section lead rides just after the rain.
2. Place "Slippery When Wet" signs at the entrances to wooden VCT bridges.
Upon further consideration, the Safety Cmte also recommended placing a nano cache on the sign at GZ. The Cmte apologizes for the teenie tinyness of this nano, which, it turns out, was the only "nano" available at the time for Prime shipping. We have submitted a recommendation to the Safety Committe's Lexicon Subcommittee that it instead be classified as a "pico cache." It also turns out that the signage is not made of ferrous materials, only the sign posts are. So we have attached the pico cache (classification pending approval of the Lexicon Subcommittee) to the signpost behind the "slippery when wet" sign. The Safety Cmte further recommends, given the itty bitty size of the log, that you use an itty bitty, abbreviated version of your geocaching user name when signing the log. You may explain your picosignature in your submitted computer log if you wish to provide further clarity.
