Trench Green circular walk from the A4074 at Chazey Heath
Approximately 3 miles 4.7km
This walk will take you on three small sections of single track roads, please take care especially with small children as these are used for access to Mapledurham Village and Mill.
Start the walk by walking up the road from The Gateway (first Cache) towards Mapledurham, just past the golf course entrance. Turning left onto the footpath (Newels Lane) signposted Mapledurham extension.
The walk will take you down, at times, some muddy paths and across fields with some lovely views along the way to include some beautiful bluebell woods in the spring. The old Mapledurham school house will be on route where I attended as a child this is what has inspired my thoughts for this walk.
It is designed in rhyme to be a circular route which starts at the Gateway, going in a North Westerly direction, following coordinates and clues from one cache to another of which there is 9 in total including the Gateway. When you reach the final part of this walk at Three Tree View you will be able to link up with our first circular walk at the Lone Tree point (or possibly Wood End, reversing the intended first walk) giving you the option to extend this walk.
