In 1969 North Dakota State claimed their Third Football National Championship. This is #3 in a series of Bison Tube Hides commemorating their National Championship Wins.
Before 1973 the NCAA awarded National Championships with a poll following regional bowl games. The Bison traveled to Sacramento to meet the University of Montana in a contest featuring the #1 and #2 teams in the nation.
