Peter O'Connor was one of Sligo's wealthiest and successful business merchants in the mid 19th century. In 1850 he established a steam saw mills in Sligo at a cost of £3000 employing upwards of 50 men. There is an information board at the cache location giving more details of the operation of the mills and its final demise in the early 1900's
Currently the premises is operated as a garage by Bus Eireann.
