The best way to learn about the history and background of this city is to visit the Hangzhou Museum. Hangzhou Museum, a.k.a Hangzhou History Museum, is located at Wushan Square, just several hundred meters away from east side of West Lake. The museum is filled with many ancient relics and artifacts found on the earliest known sites of Hangzhou. It is an interesting museum to learn more about the city and previous dynasties. The starting point of your treasure hunting is at waypoint 01, the entrance of Hangzhou Museum. You have two missions to accomplish in the museum.

Mission 3:
Goto waypoint 02 to accomplish mission 3. Waypoint 02 is at the Hefang Ancient Street, the only well-preserved part of the ancient city. Hefang ancient street has been the most flourished street in the city since the ancient time. During the Southern Song Dynasty (1127 - 1279 AD), Hefang ancient street with lots of shops, restaurants and teahouses was the center of politics, culture and commerce in the city. After so many years, it is still a prosperous business area, and also a famous scenic spot. When you reach waypoint 02 you will see some huge black Chinese characters on a very tall wall, each character is about 2meter x 2meter in size, they are the name of a famous historically Chinese pharmaceutical company founded in 1878. Please count the number of these Chinese characters(huge characters only) and write down the answer as X.
Mission 4:
You have to accomplish mission 4 in Wushan Scenic Area on the top of Wushan hill. The landscape of Wushan hill is quite splendid, but few tourists visit here, so it is relatively more peaceful and quieter as compared to other part of West Lake scenic area. You will find many local retirees on the hill, they go up the hill in the early morning, singing, dancing, drinking tea, playing card or majiang in the teahouses, practicing tai chi or other martial arts, they spend their daytime on the hill. There are many scenic spots on the hill, several temples and pavilions, and a magnificent pagoda called "City God Temple(城隍阁)". You can slow down on your mission trip to explore some of them if your time permits. The paths on the hill wind through green trees, and not all of them are clearly marked. But they are interconnected to each other, so you will not lose your way on the hill
Waypoint 03 is the entrance of the Wushan scenic area. Follow the stone stairs to go up to Wushan hill and try to find waypoint 04. You will see a pavilion at this location, see the picture blow. Please count the number of golden Chinese characters on the horizontal black nameplate under the roof of the pavilion(Chinese characters covered with red color in the picture). Write down the answer as Y.

If you go up to the top level of this pavilion, you can overlook the whole West Lake and the remote Qiantang river in a clear day, and this is the meaning of the name of this pavilion.
Now, you have the values of M, N, X, and Y, it's the time to calculate the final coordinate of the cache according the formulas below:
the latitude = 421153.2586 / M / X (° North)
the longitude = 955026.7964 / N / Y (° East)
The calculated final coordinate is in degrees, perhaps you need to do some format transformation to change them into degree, minute and second. Then you can continue your venture on the Wushan hill to find the cache.
About The Cache
The cache is a small used cosmetic plastic box. It contains a piece of rolled up log paper, a shortened pen and some toys in it. I put the cache into a plastic ziploc bag, then wraped it with a black garbage bag to prevent it from rain and water.
Maintenance Note
I live in Hangzhou, so I will maintain the cache on a regular basis. Please put the cache into the plastic bags again and hide it well as it was, thank you.
