The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.
There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.
NOTE: the cache is NOT directly located by or on the cemetery itself, which, however is nearby. There are over 32 interments at this site, ranging from 1866 to 2005. Members of the Camp and Felton families, along with sundry others, have been laid to rest here.
From this location, you should be able to see where the cemetery is located, directly downhill from here, down by a copse of trees and surrounded by its own fence. The site is at least partially fenced in, and as recently as 2011, photographic evidence shows it to be in good shape. It does not appear that there is public access. As always--any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
