Geocache Description:

A nice Red Deer River Lookout with nearby stairs for some exercise if you are so inclined.

You are standing at an eroding cliff. The Red Deer River cuts its way through various layers of geological time below your feet at GZ. Each layer tells of a different landscape and continual change. The visible layers here date back past several ice ages possibly as far back as 55 million years.

At GZ there is a detailed information plaque which you need to study in order to answer the questions below and email me the answers in order to log this cache,

1. Name the 5 geologic layers below the top soil on which you are currently standing.

2. How many times (minimum estimate) did the glaciers advance and retreat?

3. Why is nothing visible here from the time interval 45 million to 12,000 years ago?

4. What was the climate like here 55-45 million years ago?
