There is no cache at the published coordinates, as there are no classic light houses on Norfolk Island.
However there is a bright beacon atop Mt Pitt. This serves a dual purpose as an aviation beacon and a landfall marine navigation light. The chances are if you are attempting to find this cache, you will not need any lights at all.
There were no light houses around when the Bounty sailed way back in 1789 attempting to find a safe haven, away from the British Admiralty. When Lt William Bligh sailed west to eventual safety in that small boat epic voyage, he had no lighthouses or beacons to guide him, except the lights of the stars in the sky. Islands such as Tubuai, Aitutaki, Tongatapu, Mo'orea, Pitcairn Island and of course Norfolk Island all are important features of this story, how it ended and continues today. You can find out if any of these islands have guiding lights if you want. But one thing is for sure, these spots don’t suffer from light pollution so if you are ever lucky enough to visit any or all of them, pack some good optics in your case and check the stars.
